Francesco Coluccia

Francesco Coluccia 13/06/1992 was born and raised in Torrepaduli, "the land of pizzica pizzica and the tambourine" and claims that the first music he heard in his life was "pizzica pizzica".
At the age of 15, he began his academic studies at the Classical Accordion Conservatory.
For half of his studies he was followed by two music teachers: Cesare Chiacchiaretta and then Germano Scurti.
In 2008, at the age of 16, he joined the musical group "Alla Bua" where he refined his knowledge and interest in ethnic music from the Salento area of Italy.
At the same time, he cultivated a strong interest in Bayan music and its specific literature, participated in musical festivals and won various competitions with the ensemble "Lecce Accordion Project"; such as for example, the "Fadiesis Accordion Festival" (Matera), "Balkan Contemporary Music Festival" (Vlona - Albania) and, among the most important victories, the "41° PIF" City of Castelfidardo, "70th Coupé Mondiale" and the "Premio Nazionale delle Arti" 2017.
In 2018 he obtained the Classical Accordion Diploma at the T. Schipa Conservatory of Lecce, thus concluding his student career.
He has always tried to diffuse the instrument in different ways, holding workshops with young people and together with his musician colleague Fiore Maggiulli he has established the "Tambourine and Accordion Laboratory" in different locations in Salento.Today he continues his concert and composition career with "Alla Bua" giving more and more importance to the accordion in the panorama of popular music in a new and contemporary style.
